About

Welcome to my blog! My name is Kate Dilley and I am an international public health professional. The title of my blog comes from a Swahili proverb, which when translated means ‘small things, when combined together, make up big things.’ Which I think is incredibly true, particularly in the world of international health and development.

I define myself as infinitely interested – infectious diseases of all sorts, maternal and child health, women’s health issues, education, and international development. Most of my focus tends to be on international issues, but I am always reading, so many domestic issues jump out to me as well.

Communication has recently become a passion of mine. While working in Uganda I was afforded the opportunity to share my experiences, and program beneficiary’s, experiences with a diverse set of audiences. Since that time, I have been exploring social media sites and tools as a way to start conversations and dialogues.
